HIMAWARI Coffee Roaster: Learn the difference between High-grade Specialty Coffee vs Regular Coffee.

If you're a rider like me, coffee is your best friend in early morning rides. We can't start our motorcycle engine without sipping a hot blend of coffee in our mug. It's our spark plug for a long journey ahead.

Rather, I have a question to each paps or riders that is reading on this blog at this moment. Where you able to taste or drink a high grade specialty coffee in your entire life. If not,  it's time to drink one. But, let me introduce to you a Specialty Coffee Roaster Shop called Himawari located in Silang, Cavite. We were invited for a day of coffee tasting and we met, Mr. Yutaka Shinozaki, owner and Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Graduate who has great skills in roasting specialty coffee beans. Usually, Specialty Coffee Beans are harvested in high altitudes for more concentrated flavors.

Before, I talked about the difference of specialty coffee versus a regular one. Let me tell you the amazing benefits of coffee in our body.
Here as follows:
A) Helps burns fat and improves mental function.
B) Can fight depression and make you happier.
C)May lower your risk of Type 2 Diabetes
D) Best Antioxidants
E)Protect you from Alzheimer's Dse. and Dementia.
F) Lowers Stroke and Parkinson's Risk

Mr. Yutaka Shinozaki shares his knowledge regarding Specialty Coffee, He tells us how good is specialty coffee is, rather than the regular mug of coffee. It has low caffeine content that brings out it's real citrus flavor. In Specialty Coffee, the coffee beans is roasted in light method while, the coffee that we drink and bought in the supermarket is roasted in dark and black color that brings out the bitter & ashy taste. It has lesser nutritional value due to a higher caffeine content. That is why, it makes you awake the whole day. We Pinoys, love the bitter taste because that is what we've known from the start. But, infact, it's not good for our body.

Coffee Roasting Machine

People who drink coffee regularly should realised on themselves if their drinking the real or what you called good coffee. Coz, a high-grade coffee that is crafted with skillful farmers, roasters or even growers knows what's the real one, it has wide-diversity of taste and flavors, ofcourse, it has more nutritional value rather than the packed one in the market or Coffee shops.

Coffee Roasting Method

I've never seen a roasting machine before, coz whenever I went for a coffee in a coffee shop like starbucks, CBTL, Coffee Project or other Coffee stores, I can only see Expresso Machine. But, now, I've seen one and I'm glad I've watched a skillful roaster who roasted a good coffee to us meticulously.

Specialty Coffee Hand-Drip Method

Aside, from coffee roasting method that Mr. Shinozaki shown us, he teaches us the proper coffee hand-drip method, with exact gram of coffee grinds, exact time of dripping or extracting the coffee, we will derive a good coffee with a citrus taste, not too bitter or sweet.

Also, to convinced you how good, a specialty coffee is, it refers to highest quality of green coffee beans, from the growers, farmers, roasters and the way it was extracted by a Specialty Coffee Association Expert Roaster or Barista. Every craftspeople works hand in hand to developed a high standard and outstanding quality of fragrance, aroma, flavour, aftertaste, acidity, sweetness and overall better taste of the coffee.

The brewing method that was used in Specialty coffee is time measured with consistency. And, specialty coffee roasters are connected with the growers or farmers, where the coffee is originated. So, they know that their picking and choosing the best coffee for their specialty coffee shop.

So, next time you drink coffee, you'll know how to differentiate a high-grade coffee or a regular one. Choose what's best for you while waking up with a cup of coffee and smile in your heart.
